How I work
An engagement in four phases.
Phase 01 · first 30 days
Diagnose
I don't arrive with a plan. I arrive with questions.
- Interviews with you, your sales team and, where possible, your customers
- Full review of what you're spending and what it produces
- Audit of every channel, asset and agency relationship
- Competitor and market analysis
At the end of month one you get a written picture of where you actually stand including the parts nobody has wanted to say out loud.
Phase 02 · 30–90 days
Build
You receive, in writing:
- A marketing strategy tied to your revenue goal
- A channel plan: what we run, what we kill, in what order
- A budget model showing what spend produces what result
- A hiring plan for the team the strategy requires (if any)
Then we start executing. I run the build, brief the team and agencies, and report weekly.
Phase 03 · months 3 to 6
Test and prove
This is where the money question gets answered: which channels actually produce leads, and at what cost.
Finding that out takes testing, and testing takes time. In my experience it's two to three months before the data is reliable enough to trust. We run channels against each other, cut what doesn't convert, and work cost per acquisition down until you can forecast it.
The output is a number you can plan against: spend this, get roughly that. That's the point at which marketing stops being a cost line and becomes something you can scale deliberately.
Phase 04 · month 6 onward
Run and hand over
The measure of a good fractional CMO is whether the function survives their departure. That means documented process, a team who knows what they own, and reporting you can read without me in the room.
How we work together
Reporting
Weekly call, monthly dashboard. You always know what's happening and why. No silent months.
Access
I'm reachable between calls. You won't wait a week for an answer.
Presence
Remote by default. On-site once a month if useful, and I travel to conferences and events with clients where it matters.
Honesty
If a channel isn't working, you hear it from me before you notice it yourself.

Test and prove
Six months is not a sales tactic, it's how long the work takes. Month one is diagnosis. Months two and three build the strategy, channels and team. Months three to six are where we test channels against each other and drive acquisition costs down until they're predictable.
The outcome
By the end you have something most companies at your stage never get: a number you can plan against. A three-month engagement buys you a strategy document and no proof it works.
Pricing depends on scope and hours. We'll cover it on the first call, once I understand what you actually need.
Let's find out if I'm the right hire.
A 30-minute call. Three steps, no pitch:
- 01
You describe
where growth has stalled.
- 02
I tell you
what I'd look at first — and whether the problem actually needs a CMO.
- 03
You leave
with something useful either way.
